This is an extremely rare US issued Smith & Wesson .38 Model 10 revolver that was issued to the Bavaria Municipal Police - Freising City Police. It was marked and then issued to Freising police whilst under US control just after world war two. After WWII had ended different parts of the former Nazi Empire were broken up and put into allied controlled sectors. Under Allied supervision local law enforcement was granted self governance. This was implemented whilst the allied Governments drew up plan on how each country should be governed. Very few of these police marked weapons now exist. This is probably the only one of its type in the UK! Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
