Product Information

Deactivated Old Spec WWII US M3A1 "Grease" Gun manufactured Guide Lamp. Produced to replace the Thompson machine gun during the Second World War, which was expensive and slow to manufacture, it was nick named the Grease gun as it looked very similar to a type used by mechanics. The US military realised the need to produce a low cost mass production machine gun, much like the British Sten and Russian PPSH41. The M3 model was the answer, first introduced into service in late 1942, it was later modernized and redesignated the M3A1. The serial 620??? dates this one to 1945 production. Correctly marked with the US military acceptance stamps and its original green parkerized finish. Chambered in .45 like the Thompson it replaced, it still packed one hell of a punch. British SOE also used them modified to chamber 9mm. The M3A1 saw action in WWII and Korea, and was used by US Navy Seals during the Gulf War in 1991. Comes fitted with correct sling and oiler bottle in the pistol grip.
