This is a fabulous condition WWII dated Russian Ruchnoy Pulemyot DP28 (Degtyaryova pakhotnyi). Dated 1942 with matching numbers. The DP was the first originally developed Soviet machine gun which appeared in 1926. It has a very distinctive "pan" shape drum magazine. The prefix 'DP' indicates a 'Degtyarev' machine gun for infantry use. They were used by Russian forces throughout WWII and were also supplied to the Korean's and Vietnamese during there conflicts with US. Rugged and robust, the DP will operate in all condition, and with very little maintenance. This example comes with an original sling, canvas cover, two spare magazines and magazine box.
