This is a very early production M1A1 Thompson. The serial number is 23379. This gun was originally made as an M1 but was upgraded to an M1A1 during production. It dates to late 1942, early 1943. Manufactured by Auto Ordnance with the correct US military inspectors and ordnance stamps. They are; Colonel Atwood’s FJA mark and with the encircled GEG acceptance stamp of Auto-Ordnance’s civilian inspector George E. Goll. It comes with an original sling and removable 30 round stick magazine. It is deactivated with moving cocking lever and trigger, both will return under spring tension.
