A beautiful condition and rarely seen 1920 dated Lithgow SMLE No1 MKIII* rifle. The Australian SMLEs were manufactured in very small numbers throughout its entire production. This one is from a small batch of around 25,000 made during the inter war period. This rifle would have been put into service during WWII. Many original features still remain including the wood work, rear sight and nose cap. The wood work still looks great some 97 years on. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
