Product Information

This is a fascinating military issued Martini Henry IC1 (interchangeable carbine MK1 ) cavalry carbine. Just visible is the Royal Cypher, Enfield name, date stamp of 1879 designation of 1C1. Originally produced in .577 as a cavalry carbine later on in its life and with the introduction of the bolt action rifle and the .303 cartridge, the Martini was eventually retired from service, many of which were then sold off into private ownership. C.G.Bonehill specialized in converting these perfectly serviceable firearms into .22 target rifles. This is one of those conversions done specifically for the S.M.R.C. Special - Society of Minnature Rifle Clubs.  The majority of these conversions were done during the inter war years. This is a less common conversion with its military marked parts still intact and adjustable rear sights.
