Product Information

A rare regimentally marked Webley MK6 revolver, dated 1916. The regiment markings "SK Y B3" are an abbreviation for the Suffolk Yeomanry, B Squadron. In 1914 the Suffolk Yeomanry were headquartered at Bury St Edmunds, and divided into four squadrons, A,B,C & D. B squadron was based at Bury St Edmunds and the following locations at Eye, Thetford, Sudbury and Stowmarket used as drill stations. The regiment formed part of the Eastern Mounted Brigade. Another very unusual feature is the name on the barrel of the retailer and gun maker WM Moore & Grey, 165 Piccadilly, London W. In 1896 the firm moved to this London address and in 1908 Robert Grey joined the company. The barrel is from a Webley MKIV (4) .455/476 which is a rare 6 inch variant. The revolver is covered in British broad arrow acceptance stamps. A rare and unusual Great War revolver. It was deactivated to old specifications with clear chambers and can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
