Product Information

Deactivated Old Spec WWI SMLE manufactured by BSA Co. (Birmingham Small Arms Company). Dated 1917, broad arrow marked and fitted with early bolt and magazine cut-off plate, and original wood work. Originally this rifle would have been destined for the commercial market but instead was diverted to military channels. As the First World War deepened the British army had a shortage of long arms and required all the rifles it could get its hands on. The brass disc is stamped with the initials APC, Army Pay Corp, who were tasked with paying serving soldier during WW1. This lovely rifle comes with canvas sling, brass oil bottle, pull through cord, 1918 dated Sanderson bayonet & scabbard, plus stripper clip with inert .303 rounds and cartridges. A very impressive set. Deactivated in 1993 to old specifications it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired. Comes fitted with canvas sling.
