Product Information

WWII Sten MKII by Long Branch dated 1944. During the Second World War the British Government approached Canadian firm Long Branch to produce this newer version of the Sten, the mark two. The initial contract for 17,000 units was placed in August 1941 and with a total wartime production of only 133,947. Very few in gun terms when you consider ROF Fazakerley made 1,950,000. Many never made it across from Canada as transport ships with these vital supplies were often targeted and sunk by German U-boats. Making these that much rarer. Correctly fitted with a Canadian made and marked skeleton stock rather than a strut or "T"stock. Canadian Sten's were made to a much higher quality than the British ones. This rare Allied machine gun comes fitted with hard to find bayonet with scabbard and frog, plus three spare magazines with loader and pouch, cleaning rod and bullet extractor tool and sling. Deactivated sympathetically in 1992 to old specifications with a clear barrel and magazine port that swivels , it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
