Product Information

Deactivated Old Spec WWII Thompson M1A1 submachine gun. This example was issued to British forces under the WWII "Lend Lease" agreement whereby the US Government agreed to supply various weapons to the UK. These weapons were normally marked "US PROPERTY". The stock has had the rear sling swivel fitted at the top before being reinstated at the bottom, most commonly done at the request of British commandos. The pistol grip and foregrip both show evidence of armours repairs. It bears the correct US military inspectors stamps GHD - Guy H. Drewery . The receiver is also correctly marked with the encircled GEG acceptance stamp of Auto-Ordnance’s civilian inspector George E. Goll. Even more intriguing is that at some stage the serial number has been deliberately removed. Why? one possibility is it may have been used by the IRA? They are known to have used Thompson's and removed weapons serial numbers in this way. Definitely worthy of some further research. It comes fitted an original 30 round stick magazine. Deactivated in 1988 to old specifications it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
