Product Information

A stunning condition 1912 dated, regimentally marked SMLE MKIII. This is one of the best examples you are likely to see. It still retains many of its original features including both front and rear volley sights. The maker is London Small Arms Company(LSA Co) who of the three main SMLE manufacturers produced by far the smallest quantities. The regimental brass reads "R.P, 6.17 and SSD 940". The initials RP stand for Regimental Police with the date stamp of June 1917 below. 940 refers to the weapon number and the initials SSD may refer to the battalions or regiments they policed.  The leather sling is an original early example that is correct for this rifle and is marked with the makers mark HGR Ltd 19. Accompanying this beautiful rifle is an original Great War issued bayonet & scabbard. The bayonet is dated November 1915 and was manufactured by Sanderson. Plus an original Brass oil bottle, Broad arrow marked by Enfield. A superb set worthy of any WWI collection. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
