Product Information

This is a very rare 1908 dated SMLE MKIII .303 Rifle manufactured by Birmingham Small Arm. From 1907 to 1909 BSA only produced 50,000 SMLE's, all of which were Mark Threes (MKIII). This stunning rifle still has the correct front and rear volley sights, early bolt assembly and magazine cut-off plate. The brass reimentally disc reads "2 . BTN. R&H. BDE. 1342. " 2nd Battalion South African Railways and Harbours Brigade, weapon no 1342. Who existing during WWI, disbanded in the 1920s and were later reformed in 1940. The stock also has several other regimentally stamping and dates in the wood and looks to have been issued to several different regiments during its service life. Still in great condition this is a very rarely seen and desirable SMLE. Deactivated with a working action it cane be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
