Product Information

WWII production "Lend -Lease" Ithaca made Colt 1911A1 pistol. The serial number dates to 1944. The SA initials stamped on the frame mean that this 1911 came back into the US from England after the war, and went through the Springfield Armory. The frame was then stamped SA on the right side. A good  indication that this pistol was issued and used by Allied forces and saw action during WWII. Correctly stamped on the frame "United States Property M1911 A1 US ARMY ", and crossed cannons symbol, and on the reverse with the correct inspection initials FJA (Frank J Atwood). . The 1911 was the standard issued sidearm of the US military throughout WWII. Chambering the mighty .45 round (the same as the Thompson SMG) it was feared by German troops. Comes with one 1942 dated .45 inert round. Deactivated  in 1993 to old specifications with a working action and can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
