Product Information

This is one of the rarest M1 Carbines of the Second World War. Saginaw only made 293,592 M1's in total and in just two batches. This example is from the first batch of serial numbers allocated to them in May 1943. The serial range ran from 3250520 - 3651519. This example is number 3410904 with the Saginaw name visible but covered by the rear sight and also on the barrel. These M1s were originally built by Irwin-Pederson but all failed to meet with the US Ordinance Department's standards, their contract was then canceled and all parts were then transferred to Saginaw's Grand Rapids facility for rework and completion. The superb looking wood work is correctly marked with "P" proof letter and US military carcouches. A great looking carbine it may well have been involved in the D-Day landing in June 1944. Deactivated to current specifications.
