This is a rare Fist World War manufactured Colt 1911. The serial number 94952 dates to 1914 production and is from a batch of just 11,600 made during that year. It is marked on the slide to the US Army and would have been issued to a US serviceman. Incredibly, 102 years after it was made it still retains its original finish and wooden chequered grips and is fitted with is correct magazine. It is quite plausible that this pistol was involved in WWI & WWII. A rare find!!! Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
