Product Information

This is a rare very early production WWII Inglis Browning Hi Power MKI* pistol. The Inglis HPs MKI*s were only produced for a very short period from September 1944 until the end of the war, with around 93,500 or so manufactured in total. The serial number blocks started 0T0001 to 0T9999 and then 1T0001 and so on. This pistols serial number is 0T7147 meaning it is only number seven thousand one hundred and forty seventh from the very first batch of 1944. These early pistols were first to be issued and are known to have been supplied to British airborne forces as well as covert operations and commando groups such as the Special Operations Executive (SOE) during WWII. This example is broad arrow marked (British acceptance stamp) has also been Factory Through Repaired (FTR 62) by Royal Small Arms Factory Enfield in 1962. This confirms that whilst in use by the British military, post WWII it required rework before being re issued again. The Hipower was the standard sidearm of the British SAS & SBS units from there inception in the 1940s and throughout the 1950s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. Incredibly this pistol still has matching numbers to frame, barrel and slide with original finish, grips and lanyard hoop. A testament to the build quality. A rare opportunity to own an historic WWII & British special forces pistol. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped an dry fired.
