This is a US made Hopkins & Allen .38 Safety Police revolver, circa early 1900s. As the name suggests it was marketed as a police sidearm. It has a unique action, after each cycle the hammer rises sightly this prevents an accidental misfire. Very clever for the period. This example has been deactivated to current specifications with clear chambers and full moving parts.
