This is a rare first year of manufacture Winchester Model 1892 under lever carbine. The serial number 5293 confirms this, however the calibre 25-20 wasn't introduced until 1895. The "92" model designation looks to have been over stamped, indicating that it may have been rebarraled and not uncommon for a rifle of this age. The butt-stock has also been restocked at some stage with authentic example. The loading gate is missing but a replacement could be fitted. It still has a lovely smooth crisp action.
