Product Information

This is a superb example of a Second World War issued US M1 Garand rifle. It was made in May 1943 at the Springfield Armory for issue during WWII. Unlike the majority this example still retains an original wartime dated barrel. It reads "3SA 1 45" which denotes Furnace 3 Springfield Armory January 1945. This would indicate that this rifle saw extensive useage and required rebarreling. The date also ties in with the Battle of the Bulge (16 December 1944 to 25 January 1945). Rifles that saw service during this period were in constant use during some of the worse winter weather of the war. This further supported by the armorers repair to the top peice of woodwork. Also included is a genuine 1943 dated leather sling and clip of .3006 rounds with clip.
