Product Information

This is an extremely rare WWI Belgian Mauser M1889 rifle. This model was the standard long arm that was used by the Belgium army and is based on the German Gew88 rifle. During the Great War the Fabrique Nationale (FN) factory was overrun by German forces, so they outsourced production to a facility in Birmingham originally set up by the well known gun making firm, W.W. Greener. These rifles were made in the Birmingham facility by the exiled Belgian workforce. This example has all visible matching numbers and is in lovely original condition.
