This is a rare First World War Colt 1911 pistol. The serial number dates to 1918 as the year of manufacture. The slide is correctly marked with the Colt patent script and prancing horse and the frame with "United States Property". They were issued and used by both US and British forces during the First World War, with many seeing active service again during WWII. The Eagle over S5 on the left side of the frame is that of the Springfield Armory inspector and signifies that this pistol went through the Springfield workshop. A good indication of service use. They are also incredible sought after and rare.

Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked and dry fired.
