Deactivated WWI Italian Carcano M1891

This is a WWI dated Italian Carcano M1891 rifle.  This example was manufactured by the Terni Arsenal in 1918 as a Fucile Modello 1891 (Rifle Model 1891).  The Carcano has seen service throughout the years in all major conflicts, being used by both allied and axis forces during the two world wars, and even into the 20th century when observed in the hands on Libyan rebels during the Libyan Civil war of 2011. The wood appears to have had provision made for a regimental ID plate on the buttstock, though we have been unable to find any provenance.

Comes complete with its original cleaning rod and a period WW1 leather sling.
