Product Information

This is a London Small Arms Company (LSA Co) manufactured Martini Henry MKIII Under Lever artillery carbine. Dated 1886 it was originally a MKIII rifle chambered in .577/450. Below the MKIII is a single "I" Roman numeral meaning it was a First Class weapon. These weapons were normally only issued to frontline troops. In 1898 it was converted by Enfield to an ME 303 - Martini Enfield chambered in .303, AC 1 -Artillery Carbine MKI. It was issued in March 1911 to 2nd Battery Lincolnshire Royal Field Artillery, weapon number 139 (3.11 2 LIN R.F.A.139). The 2nd Battery saw extensive service during the Great War.
