This is a 1915 dated Enfield manufactured Short Magazine Lee Enfield (SMLE) No1 MKIII .303 rifle. It is fitted with the correct early bolt and magazine cut off plate. In 1915 Enfield only made 271,856 MKIII SMLE's. The vast majority would have seen service in France during the Great War and those that survived were in use again during WWII.
