Product Information

An early production Webley MK6 .455 revolver dated 1915. This is the first year of adoption into service by the British army, and this revolver has the correct 1915 acceptance markings. It is profusely Broad arrow marked with all matching numbers and has original WW1 Bakelite grips and lanyard hoop. The holster is named and looks to be marked with the owners military position and address. It looks to read as "BC Rose -Smith HQ 161 ??? Battery ?A  followed by Stadium Road Woolwich SE18". This Webley would have gone to war with the officer it was issued to. At this time Britain was in desperate need of sidearms and had already ordered .455 calibred Smith & Wesson and Colt revolvers from the US in an attempt to fulfill the shortfall. A great set with a holster with provenance. Worthy of some further research. The Webley has be deactivated sympathetically to post 1995 specifications with dummy lead bullet heads to simulate being loaded and a clear barrel. It can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
