Product Information

This is a very interesting First & Second World War issued BSA manufactured SMLE. Originally manufactured in 1918, it was re-barreled by Enfield in 1940. It is entirely plausible that this was done after the rifle returned back from beaches of Dunkirk and this may explain why it required replacement. Another very intriguing feature is the brass regiment disc that is marked to the 1st Division Signals, weapon number 20. This regiment was involved in both world wars but, was also stationed in France in 1940 when the deceleration of war was declared after which, the division was deployed taking up defensive positions at the old Normandy and Somme defense areas. During the interwar period it received two upgrades at the Enfield factory in 1926 & 1927. The rifle is fitted with an original WWI bolt assembly and has a 1941 dated sling.

Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
