Product Information

This is a D-Day era British manufactured Lee Enfield No4 MKI .303 rifle. Dated 1943, it was manufactured by Royal Ordnance Factory, Maltby in preparation for the Operation Overlord, the codename for the Battle of Normandy, most commonly referred to as the D-Day landings of June 1944. The No4 was first introduced in 1941 as the standard British infantry rifle and as a direct replacement for the aging WWI SMLE. Note the armorers repair to the stock, this is a good indication that this No4 saw active service. In 1952 this No4 was FTR - Factory Through Repaired and upgraded to a MKI/2 at the ROF, Fazakerley. Deactivated to current specifications with moving bolt action, tensioned trigger and removable magazine.
