Product Information

Deactivated British made,1944 dated, No5 MK1 Jungle Carbine. Manufactured by Royal Ordnance Factory (ROF) Fazakaley (F). British military broad acceptance stamps. Matching numbers to bolt, action and barrel. An early example from the first year of production dated October 1944 (10'44). The No5 saw service during WWII. Rumor has it that it was designed primarily for airborne use, rather than the Asian jungles for which it is most commonly associated with. The No5 did see extensive use in Holland during the Battle of Arnhem being issued to British paratrooper units, as well as on the Pacific islands. It also saw service during the  “Malayan Emergency” of 1948-1960. One of the few bolt action rifles that can leave a bruise in your shoulder and a smile on your face. You know when you have fired one!!! Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
