Product Information

An original British Navy WWII era, Schermuly line thrower (No2 MK5). The dispersal code M601 was used in WW2 by I.L. Berridge & Co, who were a commercial knitting machine manufacturer. This model utilises the British No2 MK5 flare pistol that was also produced by Berridge. The Schermuly design was highly successful for the throwing of lines from shore to ship, or ship to ship. They were used by the Royal Navy throughout the war saving countless lives at sea. This example has its original grips, lanyard hoop, carry handle and lanyard cord. The barrel is painted navy grey. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
