An absolute stunning WWII US military issued Colt 1911A1. One of the best example available!!! The serial 1643481 was allocated to Colt made 1911's in 1944. Correctly stamped with US ordnance and inspection marks, GHD and P proofs. It is quite plausible this Colt was involved in the D-Day landing in June of 1944. It still retains much of its original Parkerized war finish with unblemished grips. Many of these WWII surviving 1911s went on to see service during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. The 1911 still remains one of, if not, the most iconic US sidearms of all time!! Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
