Product Information

A Second World War, D-Day era, Lee Enfield No4 MKI* with matching bolt. Manufactured in 1944 by Canadian firm Long Branch under the 'Lend Lease" agreement. This rifle was produced to help arm Allied & Common Wealth forces during WWII and may well have been involved in the D-Day landing of June 1944. Many of these rifles failed to make it to Europe due to the heavy loses inflicted on merchant shipping by German U-boats. Unlike the majority on No4's, this example is fitted with an early rounded bolt cocking piece. The reason being as parts ran down or ran out the factory would use other available and serviceable part(s) to complete the build. Note the armorers repairs to the wood work, a very good indication of service use. Below the serial number on the stock band it is stamped "B13" , this maybe a unit or regiment mark? A great looking rifle it comes fitted with the correct canvas sling. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
