An unusual Czechoslovakian made MARS, 7.65mm pistol. The slide legend reads  "Kohout & Spol, Kdyne" . This particular model is not that well known with only limited information available. However, it would appear to have been made in limited numbers with the highest recorded serial numbers being in the 20,000 range. Production started around 1927 and ended in 1945. From this ones serial number (4505) it dates to pre WWII and was later military marked in 1946 with "41752, rampant lion , 46" just forward of the slide serrations on the left side. They were used by both Czech and Nazi forces during WWII. The design is based on the Browning 1910 and as with all Czech made guns it is well engineered and very robust. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked and dry fired.
