Product Information

This is a rare early WWII production Saginaw SG manuafctured M1 Carbine. The serial number is from a batch produced by Irwin Pedersen who were contracted to make the M1 by the US Government in 1942, but all their guns failed inspection. Production was then handed over to Saginaw Steering Gear (Grand Rapids) who then reworked these guns using the already numbered receivers. Irwin Pedersen M1s were serial numbered from 1762520 to 1875039. From May 1943 to January 1944, Saginaw SG only made 223,620 carbines, the fewest of all the companies contracted to make it during WWII. The Saginaw SG name is stamped above the serial number and is hidden by the rear sight assembly but is just visible if viewed from the sides.

Deactivated with a cocking lever and trigger that will return under spring tension.
