Product Information

A WWII Lee Enfield No4T sniper rifle, dated 1943. It was manufactured by BSA Shirley; makers code M47C. Correctly marked with the initials "TR" on the stock wrist, meaning telescopic rifle. The letter S on the right side of the receiver signifies it was converted by Holland & Holland who were contracted to carry out the sniper conversions. The Lee Enfield No4T was one of the most successful sniper rifles of WWII. A regiments sniper and his 4T were a very effective part of the British war machine during the war. They were able to report back on enemy positions and movements and could cause havoc among enemy ground troops, picking off soldiers from long distances. A skilled sniper could often interfere or even delay enemy advances. Relatively few No4t's were manufactured during wartime production, around 23,000 in total. This example is fitted with the correct wartime M1903 leather sling, 1941 dated No32 MKI scope that has very good optics. Also included are WWII dated .303 inert rounds with clip, pull through cord and Bakelite oil bottle. The No4T was used by various British regiments and special ops units during WWII. A great looking rifle with lovely wood work. Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
