Product Information

A WWII US "Lead Lease" Lee Enfield No4 MKI* .303 Rifle. Only produced during WWII for the British Government, it was manufactured by US firm Savage in 1943 under the 'lend lease" agreement to help arm Allied & Common Wealth forces during the war. Many of these rifles failed to make it to Europe due to the heavy loses inflicted on merchant shipping by German U-boats. Thankfully this example made it. The stock is marked "414" , this maybe a rack number or reference to the unit / regiment that it was assigned to. The bolt cocking piece is a wartime emergency measures type used when standard parts were in short supply. Post WWII this rifle continued in service with the MOD and refurbished in 1952 by ROF Fazakerly and upgraded to a MK1/3. It comes fitted with a British canvas sling.
