This is a  WWII US "Lead Lease" Lee Enfield No4 MKI* .303 Rifle. Only produced during WWII for the British Government, it was manufactured by US firm Savage under the 'Lend Lease" agreement to help arm Allied & Common Wealth forces during the war. Many of these rifles failed to make it to Europe due to the heavy loses inflicted on merchant shipping by German U-boats. Thankfully this example made it. Note the armourers repair to the stock, this is a good indication of service use. It comes fitted with a British canvas sling.
