Product Information

A stunning condition early WWII Russian Ruchnoy Pulemyot DP28 (Degtyaryova pakhotnyi), dated 1938 with all matching numbers. The DP28 was the first originally developed Soviet machine gun which appeared in 1926. The prefix 'DP' indicates a 'Degtyarev' machine gun for infantry use. In 1939 Hitler and Stalin signed a nonaggression pact that was concluded only a few days before the beginning of WWII, and in November 1939, three months after the outbreak of World War II, Russia invaded Finland which is referred to as the "Winter  War". The distinctive drum or pancake magazine gained it the nickname the "Record player" by Soviet troops.
