Deactivated WWII Maxim Machine gun with Sokolov Wheeled Carriage. Dated 1944 with matching numbers on almost every part of the gun. Invented by Hiram Maxim in 1883, this was the first true heavy machine gun. It was capable of firing 500 rounds per minute. This one is equipped with a bullet defense shield and still has the original paint. Comes complete with ammunition box, 250 round belt, 40 inert rounds, water cooler canister and pipe. Plus a complete tool kit with canvas bag and original tool kit schematic. The oil can is still in its original wrappings and grease! It is also fitted with a "snow hopper". The Russian realized that in freezing winter conditions there was no need to use water to cool the barrel, so instead they would fill it with snow. Deactivated with a working action, can be cocked, stripped and dry fired. Would make a great centre piece to a collection. Comes with its  bullet shield but is not fitted in the photos, but is included in the price.
