This is near mint condition WWII dated Russian Mosin Nagant M44 carbine. Dated 1945, it was manufactured at the Izhevsk State Arsenal and has all visible numbers matching including the bolt. The M44 is essentially an M38 carbine with an integral folding bayonet. The M44 proved to be an ideal mass produced weapon during the latter stages of WWII, simple yet clever engineering and the abilty to work in the freezing Russian winter conditons giving Russian soldiers the upperhand over the Germans who were armed with weapons that were prone to stoppages during the icey conditions. Deactivated to current specifications with moving bolt, trigger and removable magazine.
