This is a second World War dated Russian Mosin Nagant M91/30 rifle. Dated 1942 it was manufactured at the Izhevsk arsenal. Post WWII it saw service with Asian communist forces. The stock bears Chinese characters that are ownership or property markings. During the Cold War period Russia supplied China, Korea and Vietnamese armies with large numbers of WWII Nagant rifles. Ironically this rifle was originally used against the Nazi and Axis forces only to be used again in post WWII conflicts/wars against Allied forces!  An interesting and well traveled rifle that has definitely seen plenty of action.
