A WWII "Lend Lease" Smith & Wesson .38 M&P Revolver. This example dates to mid 1942 production and has the US flaming grenade ordnance and WB inspectors stamps. Marked of the top strap "United States Property", this marking was most commonly associated with weapons what were assigned to the Lend Lease agreement between the UK and US governments. This revolver is definitely one of those and is marked to New Zealand (NZ). In comparison to most other Allied forces, New Zealand had a very small army with around 140,000 personnel deployed during WWII. Making these marked weapons fairly scarce. Deactivated with moving parts it comes with an EU/UK certificate of deactivation.
