This is a WWII manufactured US made Smith & Wesson M1917 "Brazilian Contract" revolver chambered in .45. This particular example was part of a small batch supplied to Brazil from 1937 to 1946 totally just 37,000 revolvers. This example is from the second batch of just 12,000 that were assembled from WWII US M1917 parts. These revolvers were issued to military and police units. The revolver has matching numbers to frame, barrel and cylinders and retains its original factory blued finish and is fitted with the correct S&W wooden grips. A rare S&W revolver. Deactivated with a workig action.

The M1917 came to great notority when used by Indian Jones in the movie "Raiders of the Lost Ark" staring Harrison Ford and more recently by Brad Pitt in the WWII movie "Fury".
