Deactivated WWII SMLE MKIII* Lithgow 1943 with matching numbers. During the Second World War Australia produced various British pattern weapons to arm its own forces. Although Australian forces fort against Nazi Germany, with some units being deployed in Europe, the vast majority of its forces fort against the Japanese, playing a key role in the Pacific War with US forces. Making this Aussie SMLE a fairly scarce rifle. This lovely rifle comes with correct Australian issued bayonet & scabbard (dated 1944), oil bottle, pull through cord and canvas sling. A must have for the Lee Enfield or Allied forces collector! Deactivated with a working action it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
