Deactivated WWII Sten MK2

This is a very early production WWII British made STEN MKII. The serial number is only 4849 with no letter suffix or prefix and is believed to have been made by Enfield circa 1941. Note the MKII designation is 11 and not the common Roman numeral font. Whilst the Germans were producing high quality, some say, even over engineered weapons. The British kept it simple with no frills. Easier and quick to manufacture the Sten proved its worth during WWII. It fired readily available 9mm ammunition, this made it perfect for use in German occupied countries and large numbers were parachuted in to resistance groups.
