An original WWII British made STEN MKII. This example retains it original wartime finish and hasn't been repainted. The manufactures initials S.J.ENG. are found on the magazine housing. This is one of smaller lesser known British subcontractor contracted to build the Sten during the war. The serial number has an F prefix at the beginning which denotes that it was final assembled by ROF Fazakerley. Whilst the Germans were producing high quality, some say, even over engineered weapons. The British kept it simple with no frills. Easier and quick to manufacture the Sten proved its worth during WWII. It fired readily available 9mm ammunition, this made it perfect for use in German occupied countries and large numbers were parachuted in to resistance groups. Deactivated with a tensioned cocking lever, removable stock and magazine.
