Product Information

WWII Sten MKV (5) manufactured by ROF - Royal Ordnance Factory Theale/Fazakerley. Mark 5s stamped with the "V" Roman numeral predate September 1944. So it is quite plausible that this one was involved in the Arnham campaign of that year. The sling hoop on the top of the stock would indicate use by Airbourne troops or Commando's. It is covered in military broad arrow acceptance stamps with various unit/weapon numbers including regimental/unit markings RNG 995.  The MKV was first introduced in early 1944,  and is essentially a better quality version of the MK2, using the same magazine port and body, magazine and similar bolt assembly. New additions were a wooden stock, pistol grip, No4 foresight and a wooden vertical foregrip, plus a bayonet attachment. The foregrip was often removed as it was prone to breakages, and eventually discontinued for the same reason. This example has been very thoughtfully deactivated, as although deactivated in 1996 (conforming to post 1995 specifications) it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired. The magazine housing can be swiveled. Comes fitted with sling.
