Product Information

A great condition WWII American made Browning 1919A4 .30 calibre light machine gun with tripod and pintle. Saginaw Steering Gear Division only manufactured 30 cal's during WWII with production ending in June 1945. The serial number dates to mid 1942 production. This one bears the correct US military ordnance and inspection stamps and is marked with the initials RIA (Rock Island Arsenal) who were contracted by the US Government  to reworked this gun post WWII. A good indication that it saw action. The thirty cal, as it was named by US troops, was the main light machine gun of world war two. It was very versatile and could be a vehicle mounted weapon (tank, jeep, armoured vehicle etc) or in this case as an infantry support weapon mounted on a tripod. They saw action in all US military engagements throughout WWII, and are still in use today. Comes with an original canvas belt containing over 100 inert .30 rounds. The tripod is dated 1944 with the correct canvas carry bag. The ammo tin is by Edeka with US flaming bomb ordnance stamp. A superb set. The 30 Cal is deactivated with a working it can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
