Deactivated WWII US 50 Cal Heavy Machine Gun

This is a Second World War American Browning M2 .50 calibre machine gun. It was made by Kelsey-Haynes Wheel Co. who were contacted by the US Government to produced a batch of 73,200 "50 Cals" for the US military during WWII. Serial numbers ran from 1340414 to 1413613, dating this example from late 1942 early 1943. The "50 Cal" as it was most commonly referred to, was hugely versatile being fitted to tanks, armoured vehicles and aircraft (bombers and fighters). It could also be used as a ground mounted weapon. Accompanying this 50 Cal is a one-off hand crafted adjustable stand that rotates 360 degrees.
