This is superb completely original WWII Colt manufactured 1911A1. It dates to 1943 as the year of manufacture and retains all of its original wartime parkerized factory finish and hard plastic grips. This pistol is reputed to have been used during the D-Day landings of June 1944. Soon after the war it was acquired as part of a swap between a British and US soldiers and has remained in the UK ever since. This is why it is in such amazing condition. A rare find!
