Deactivated WWII US M8 Flare or Signal pistol.

This is an original WWII era US military issued M8 Flare or Signal pistol. It was manufactured by Eureka Vacuum Cleaner Company. The base of the pistol grip is marked with the US military "P" proof acceptance stamp. This model was used predominantly by the US Navy and Airforce. The barrel has four locking lugs and a release catch that were used to lock the pistol into the air crafts fuselage before firing.

Flare pistols remain unaffected by the recent EU/UK law changes and can be cocked, stripped and dry fired.
